Statement :
My recent practice explores what
it means to be British, and the traces and stains
of our imperial history. The accoutrements of middle-
class living together with items unearthed from family
garages and sheds, charity shops, beaches and the
like have provided starting points for my work.
Using photography, sculpture, video,
and installation, I question domestic habits and customs,
which appear integral to our identity as British islanders,
to see what contradictions they reveal. A sense of
the absurd is a common component of my work as a means
to communicate more serious issues. In my kinetic
works the sound may be as important as the visual
elements in evoking a memory or mood
